Through the dark silhouette of the trees

When the crows sleep;

Through the meshed up windows of my abode

Against the deep purple sea of a sky

I see you

The silver globe!

Shining and standing

In glory and quaintness

You give hope and warmth

Light in the dark breezy night

Night after night

As you are slowly shadowed

Loosing form and function

The world is swallowed in darkness

And the night of the new moon

Where you are nowhere to be seen

Is all hope lost?

Is there no solace then?

You show yourself again

Just as slowly

Growing and becoming fuller

To shine full again

Just as before

Humanity learns its lessons from you

Oh great silver moon!

Shine forth, and we know

That what shall grow shall wither away

And that which fades will glow again someday!
