I watched a Disney movie yesterday (many months after its release, unfortunately. I don’t live in a metro, you see)! Disney movies have always made me feel warm and glow with happiness. They keep getting better and better. There’s no easy ‘favourite’ to pick. Disney has no age barrier, just like there’s no age barrier to anything else in life! I can and will watch Disney even if I grow as old as old can be (that is, if I live to grow that old).
Zootopia was mind-blowing! The plot was great, the characters were real and the concept was exceptional.
For those of you who haven’t watched the movie, without giving away the plot, the movie is about animals in a futuristic evolved animal kingdom who are as, if not more tech-savvy than us in the current age. They have smart phones, mobile apps, donuts, branded clothes and what not. And, they claim to live in Harmony- the prey and the predators.
There’s so much the movie had to say about who’s prey and who’s predator. How do we decide? Based on appearances, inherent characteristics, DNA? Based on what do we decide? The plot has nicely captured pretentious preys who pose as victims and loud predators that are harmless.
The characters are so well conceived. The main characters- the fox and the bunny are absolutely delightful and so are the sides; the sloth and the gazelle make you go crazy! It’s like a full course meal, complete from starters to dessert, each dish as good as the other.
Well, then what’s the moral? The moral is: Go watch the movie!
